Banking Consulting Europe which is a part of EMEA Region under ‘FSGBU - Consulting’ delivers Oracle Technology and Applications solutions for clientele in the European region. The service offerings include Application Implementation, Managed Services and Customization development services for Oracle Financial Services Software Banking products.

Your Opportunity

This gives you an opportunity to apply your technology knowledge, skills and experience to work in the Banking Consulting team with a new generation of Oracle Banking products in next generation architecture built leveraging the latest technologies.

The Role

What You’ll Do - Be the vital piece of the puzzle that connects us to the millions of businesses that need our help to evolve.

Activities in Development or Implementation or Managed Service activity streams as a Principal Technical Consultant. Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead or participate as Senior Technical team member in Development or Implementation or Managed Service activity streams such as Migration, Testing support and coordination with other Oracle teams at client locations or offshore teams for various activities.

  • Develop programs as per specifications/requirements given by oracle/customer within planned schedule. He/she must use defined standards/tools/processes to achieve deliverable that meet quality expectations of oracle/client.

  • Assist with analysis, design and implementation of solutions for various business requirements.

  • Document all work in accordance with agreed standards/processes applicable for oracle/customer.

  • Coordinate with offshore team for various technical deliverables including customizations and support teams for patches, fixes.

  • Adhere to defined Change Control Process of oracle/customer. Comply with oracle/customer audit/compliance requirements.

  • Ensure quality code delivery.

  • Perform proper handover/knowledge transfer at end of each assignment.

  • Timely status reporting to supervisor.

  • Timely submission of timesheets for oracle/customers

Required Skills/Experience

Primary Skills

  • You possess experience in end-to-end Development and / or Implementation and / or Support activities covering expertise areas such as design of customizations, Coding and Unit testing, executing Test cycle rounds including End of Days, migrations and Integrations for Oracle FLEXCUBE / Core banking products

  • You possess knowledge and skills in software programming in Oracle PL/SQL and Core Java, JavaScript and XML. Skills and experience in Java Microservices technologies is a plus

  • Hands-on experience in developing and deploying Releases, good expertise on source-control tools, taking backups and helping Bank teams prepare release-documentation both on-premise & cloud infrastructure

  • Participate and lead, when needed, the project meetings and solutioning workshops with the Customer

  • Track deliverables against timelines and milestones, and delegate/track with team members also towards their individual deliverables.

  • You should be able to perform issue tracking for applications and follow-up for resolution of same with stakeholders

  • You possess good client interaction skills in areas including presentation of solutions

  • You have exposure to software deployment and troubleshooting on Application Server software especially Oracle Weblogic

  • You have exposure to analysis of Oracle Database AWR/ADDM reports and troubleshooting of database performance issues.

  • You have awareness of banking terminologies and concepts

  • You possess good skills on Microsoft Office, MS Excel, Powerpoint

  • You possess good communication & documentation skills in English

Secondary Skills

  • You have exposure to software development processes and practices, DevOps tools, Testing tools

  • You possess knowledge of Oracle OBIEE Reports, BIP, middleware such as Oracle Fusion SOA Suite

  • You are aware of latest technologies in Banking

  • Working knowledge on Docker/containerization, Kubernetes is an added advantage

Experience

  • Experience of 5 to 9 years with 3 years in primary skill areas

  • Experience in development and / or implementation and / or support of core banking applications.

Educational and Other Qualifications

Should hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent degree

Personal Attributes:

  • Fluency in English is a MUST and knowledge of Italian would be an added advantage

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ready to travel for short or long term

Responsibilities

Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices. Demonstrates expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements. May act as the team lead on projects. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and configures detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.
