HP Inc. Supply Chain Environmental Process Implementation Role in Vancouver, Washington

HP is expanding the Climate Team to advance these goals in our supply chain.

This position reports into the Climate Director and is focused on working with our suppliers to drive sustainability initiatives in order to meet our ambitious climate goals and supply chain environmental requirements. In this position, you will support HP's supply chain environmental and climate strategy through the implementation, and maintenance of processes and projects to advance HP's Sustainable Impact goals and objectives. This role will focus on meeting supplier requirements for water, energy, carbon, and logistics.

This individual shall be able to solve problems of diverse complexity and scope, handle most unique situations and exercise independent judgment, and act as a project leader providing direction to team activities and the team decision making process.

Responsibilities:

  • Own supplier data management and process for logistics, carbon, energy, and water; ensure processes and data meet SOX controls.

  • Partner with the Climate Team's carbon footprinting experts to facilitate inclusion of primary supplier carbon and renewable electricity data into HP's corporate carbon footprint.

  • Review suppliers' renewable energy and carbon data and certificates to ensure the data quality and accuracy.

  • Support the HP logistics teams to drive sustainability requirements and anticipate logistics sustainability needs, drivers, and strategies.

  • Engage with external logistics sustainability organizations and frameworks (SmartWay, SFC/GLEC)

  • Develop goals for HP's logistics partners based on market access, regulatory and reporting requirements.

  • Communicate directly with HP's logistics partners to track and provide advice to improve performance.

  • Develop scalable supply chain water and energy efficiency programs that advance our sustainable impact goals and meet supply chain reporting and regulatory needs.

  • Develop and deploy external and internal communications materials (e.g., trainings, contract language, FAQs) and respond to customer and internal inquiries.

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to support continual improvement of supplier-related water, logistics and energy projects and programs.

Education and Experience Required:

  • First level university degree; may have advanced university degree.

  • Prior experience in environmental fields (GHG emissions, energy, water, waste, etc.)

  • Ideally, 2+ years in a supply chain function

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of key supply chain environmental related subject areas involving carbon footprinting, energy management/efficiency, renewable energy sourcing/finance, etc.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and high-level modeling tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and perform in a fast-paced, often-changing environment, self-motivated, ability to learn quickly and work nimbly and to tight deadlines.

  • Very strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; mastery in English

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $79,150 - $114,750 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
