JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education seeks a self-directed and flexible Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to the Director of the Professional Personnel Development Center for Career and Technical Education (PDE Center) and other assigned teacher education faculty, exempt staff and students. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage Center budgets, processing expenditures for the Center, keeping detailed records of expenditures under the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) grant to ensure compliance and assist the Director in applying for funds by providing accurate budget numbers and projecting figures for the upcoming year, prepare quarterly and annual reports.

  • Manage all financial aspects of the CASE Institutes and the Global Teach Ag Initiative.

  • Manage and coordinate travel, supervise and train wage payroll and work study employees and prepare and process payroll.

  • Advise Agricultural and Extension Education (AEE) students on policies and procedures, maintain records, assist with coordination of student teaching placements, assist with PDE Center and department academic programming events and coordination of workshops and seminars.

  • Create and maintain databases, program web site, and list serves.

  • Compose, prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and forms.

  • Manage large mailings, maintain calendars, make appointments, and assist in facilitating meetings through preparation of agendas and keeping minutes.

This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding. This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Training/Degree plus thre years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidate must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications. Proficiency in WorkLion/Workday, Shop OnLion, LionPath, 25Live, SAP Concur and SIMBA is highly preferred. Should possess excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
