Description

Immediate Controller opening- HYBRID position - for a PE backed Manufacturing Company based in the Shenandoah Valley area. This Plant Controller will report to the CFO and be responsible for the 2 of the largest plants and oversee a staff of 3-4. 5+ years of manufacturing and costing experience is a must! The role involves overseeing and managing various accounting functions, including accounts receivable and payable, general ledger, budgeting, credit and collections, and fixed asset accounting/ cost accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial systems, leading cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, and leading the oversight for the existing ERP system.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, budgeting, credit and collections, and fixed asset accounting functions

• Maintain and improve financial systems and recommend improvements

• Serve as the lead accountant at the plant location, providing guidance to accounting staff and others on proper treatment for transactions

• Lead cost accounting in a manufacturing environment and provide business analysis, forecasting, and budgeting

• Lead the financial transition to a new ERP system and serve on a location-wide team to ensure successful ERP implementation

• Analyze information and provide recommendations to plant and company management

• Establish and recommend major financial and accounting objectives, policies, and procedures for the location

• Lead internal and external audits of the location

• Maintain and improve the system of internal accounting controls and assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Provide financial and other information reporting for the location

Requirements

*Degree in Accounting or Finance and strong preference for a CPA certification

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Ability to handle complete Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Ability to prepare Financial Statements

• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation

• Experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting

*3+ years of prior supervision required
