The Privacy Specialist is responsible for managing and investigating privacy concerns, providing subject matter expertise, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement privacy solutions. You'll assist with policy development, training, and ensuring clients' rights to access their protected health information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and investigate internal and external reports of privacy concerns, providing timely responses and solutions.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy matters, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement privacy solutions.

  • Assist in developing and delivering policies, procedures, training, and resources to support privacy compliance and organizational awareness.

  • Support clients'/patients' rights to inspect, amend, and restrict access to their protected health information.

  • Maintain Business Associate Agreements and Qualified Service Organization Agreements.

  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Privacy Work Plan.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Privacy-related certification such as Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS), or Certified HIPAA Privacy and Security Expert (CHPSE), preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and the ability to interpret and summarize relevant policies and regulations.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey complex topics clearly.

  • Ability to interpret data and write reports.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service and establish positive working relationships.

  • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and initiative.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
