Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist Department: Finance Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Weekly Hours: Part-time Monday- Friday; 30 hours per week FLSA Status: Exempt Salary: \$40,000 Annually The YWCA of Western MA is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering survivors. The YW provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Our programs and services include crisis shelter and transitional housing for survivors and their families, counseling, SAFEPLAN court advocacy, community education, supervised visitation, and vocational training for youth. The YWCA provides services at multiple locations, including Holyoke, Northampton, Belchertown, Westfield and our primary Springfield campus. Summary The AP Specialist is responsible to safeguard the assets of the YWCA by ensuring invoices are processed accurately and timely in accordance with established policies and procedures. This includes receipt and review of invoices from suppliers, verifying the good or service has been received, and entering the necessary data in to the accounting system for payment. This position monitors payment activity to ensure all bills are paid on time and in full, tracks payment deadlines, follows-up with suppliers to ensure payment has been received, and communicates throughout the organization to ensure all payments are authorized and processed properly. SEE YWCA WEBSITE FOR COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTION Qualifications: Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent with relevant professional experience. Minimum 2 years\' experience as an accounts payable specialist or similar. Associate\'s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration preferred. Non-profit experience with knowledge of non-profit cost principles preferred. In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles, accounting standards, and industry regulations. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of Financial Edge or demonstrated experience with other accounting systems a plus. Keen attention to detail. Good time management and organizational, collaboration and communication skills. Ability to lift 40 lbs. A valid driver?s license required. Must be able to be covered by the Agency\'s insurance policy.
