Summary

Wastewater treatment plant operators are responsible for the purification of wastewater. They remove harmful organisms, solid wastes, from industrial wastewater. Wastewater treatment plant operators read and interpret meters and gauges that monitor the purification process and operation. They use this information to control the pumps, valves, and generators that move the wastewater through the treatment processes and dispose of the waste materials and may make minor repairs on equipment.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and preventive cleaning to maintain equipment in peak operating condition.

• Record and log all required information.

• Must adhere to all Safety requirements including PPE, participate in reporting unsafe acts and operating conditions

• Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

• Must perform CMs and PMs on WW equipment.

• LOTO training is mandatory.

• Repair & Clean trolleys.

• Keep DAF side clean (power wash DAF side, centrifuge tanks, etc.)

• Keep North side of waste water clean & everything put away & organized.

• Assist with truck un-loading when needed.

• Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

• Repair barn paddles as needed.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent

Experience Requirements

0 -2 years. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required.Must have all personal tools and have the ability to learn to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

1. Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. 2. May need to move equipment occasionally. 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. .5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in pork, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
