What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Generally responsible for developing all aspects of company Health and Safety policy and procedure development and training as well as the management of all aspects of Health and Safety consulting projects. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as Corporate Safety Leader in his/her absence.

  • Developing or assisting in the development and implementation of company Loss Prevention policies/procedures.

  • Developing or assisting in the development of training presentations and safety chats in various Loss prevention topics and delivering to Hargrove teammates.

  • Assisting the Corporate Safety Leader in conducting site visits to support the Safety efforts at all Hargrove locations and client sites.

  • Assisting the Corporate Safety Leader in conducting site visits with clients in order to build relationships with H&S personnel at all client sites.

  • Providing and/or assisting with Industrial Hygiene and Safety consulting activities, including networking, attendance at conferences where Hargrove will participate as an exhibitor, etc.

Ideal Background

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Public Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field from an accredited university is required.

Certifications: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is required.

Experience: This position requires 8+ years of relevant industrial safety, risk management and/or industrial hygiene experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of rules, regulations, client and company requirements for Health and Safety including OSHA regulations.

  • Working knowledge of Industrial Hygiene and Safety principles and practices.

  • Ability to lead a team to deliver on commitments.

  • Ability to deliver presentations of Hargrove Engineers & Constructors services.

  • Extreme attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects efficiently and effectively.

  • Ability to perform work on an HSE project as directed, conduct required activities, maintain required documentation, and construct a meaningful report of activities.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power-Point.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
