Job Description

A client is looking for a Sr Mechanical Estimator in the San Antonio, TX area. The Sr Mechanical Estimator will be working with the estimating assistant at the beginning of the project to outline all pertinent information to fulfilling the Bid. They will be responsible for setting up the Bidders list and Bid form to achieve maximum understanding for the clients. They will perform quantity take-off and pricing of mechanical, plumbing and process piping estimates, develop/document logical assumptions during conceptual estimating activities, applying these assumptions to takeoff tasks, and solicit subcontractors during the bidding process. They will also be responsible for communicating with project leads to clarify scope of work, materials and schedule requirements, Collect/organize all bid information for input into historical cost database platform, and conduct reviews of milestone documents to identify changes in work scope and develop pricing of value alternative opportunities. The Sr Mechanical Estimator will assist field operations with change order pricing, maintain current, working knowledge of MEP codes, prepare scopes of work (SOW's) for subcontracts and suppliers and coordinate mechanical scopes of work with architectural/structural/electrical scope. They will need to develop/maintain relationships with internal clients and subcontractors/vendors, occasionally attending industry events to represent Gillette.

Skills and Requirements

* Associates in Mechanical Engineering or related program

* 5-7+ years of experience in estimating mechanical work

* 5+ years' experience with pricing of mechanical, plumbing and process piping estimates

* Proficient in Quote Soft or other estimating software (able to maintain database and build assemblies based on Specifications to be utilized in each Industry)

* Comfortable working in a team environment and having great communication skills

* Must work well independently and unsupervised

* Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.

* Ability to pass a background check (up to 7yrs back since they do work at schools & governmental locations) & drug test * Any formal training/licenses

* Heating and cooling estimates null
