What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Underground Bulk Product Manager, you will be the expert in executing underground bulk emulsion trials and provide field support for customers and joint ventures. You will be part of a dynamic who drives the maintenance procedures as well as SOP’s for the operation of the DynoMinres. Other duties will include:

  • Provide field support for underground trials.

  • Coordinate mobilization and operate DynoMiner equipment at underground sites.

  • Provide maintenance of trial DynoMiners and perform preventative maintenance.

  • Support sales and customer needs during underground trials.

  • Train and coach employees/JV partners/customers to safely follow the DynoMiner standard operating procedures.

  • Highlight improvements in the efficiency of underground loading and demonstrate other benefits of the bulk emulsion.

  • Proactively handle safety issues.

  • Comply with all applicable Dyno Nobel, federal, state and regional regulations.

  • Report all near-misses, incidents and hazardous conditions to appropriate supervisors.

  • Comply with appropriate areas of the HSE Management System and Dyno Nobel Engineering Standards.

  • Actively comply with applicable regulatory health and safety policies and practices in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of employees, company assets, environment, and regulatory compliance.

  • Interpersonal behavior with a focus on communication, teamwork, building customer relationships and managing conflict.

  • Win the confidence of the customer during trials.

  • Skill in all aspects of building strong internal and external customer relationships. Good knowledge of the mining and explosives industries.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and/or French.

  • Competent management skills as well as thorough knowledge of details and relationships throughout the company.

  • Knowledgeable in all underground functions

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school and a technical qualification preferred (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).

  • Minimum 6 years working experience in the explosives industry or underground operations.

  • Working knowledge of relevant Company and regulatory standards (DOT, OSHA, MSHA).

  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • May be required to function as a trainer or project coordinator for underground trials.

  • May be required to perform technical evaluations and audits as well as provide field support for DynoMiner equipment and products.

  • Contribute to writing training documents.

  • Mechanical knowledge of DynoMiners.

  • Thorough knowledge of standards, equipment SOP’s, products, chemical sensitization, string loading, and other equipment features.

  • Significant knowledge of underground loading as well as training and auditing

  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player
