Ithaca College ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - SCREEN STUDIES in Ithaca, New York

Job Description:

The Ithaca College Roy H. Park School of Communications invites applications for a temporary, full time, 9-month teaching position in Screen Studies, beginning on August 16, 2024. The successful candidate will teach six courses (24 credits). This includes assigned classes at the undergraduate level in the following areas: an introductory course in film aesthetics and analysis and survey courses in American film history and classical and contemporary film theories, with some opportunities for additional courses depending on enrollment, curricular, and institutional needs.

Qualifications:

A PhD in screen studies or closely related field (ABD accepted) is required.

All bargaining unit faculty members shall be covered by the collective bargaining agreement between Ithaca College and Services Employees International Union, Local 200 United. Full time bargaining unit employees are all limited term faculty teaching term appointments on a full-time non-tenured and non-tenure track basis employed by Ithaca College at its Ithaca, New York campus.
