Description

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist for our client in downtown Houston. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll and working in high-volume experience.

Job Duties:

1. Effectively manage the activities related to the successful completion of payroll procedures by adhering to deadlines.

2. Collect and review timecard information, making necessary changes to ensure accurate payroll processing.

3. Use Microsoft Excel for data entry, reports creation, data analysis, and presenting data through graphs.

4. Be accountable for all full-cycle payroll duties, which include calculation of salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, tax withholdings, etc.

5. Maintain records such as attendance, leave, and overtime for ensuring accurate and well-organized payroll processing.

6. Work closely with the HR department and liaise with various departments to gather information and resolve payroll discrepancies.

7. Prepare and issue electronic paychecks and direct deposits.

8. Adhere to both federal and state payroll regulations and ensure compliance at all times.

   Requirements

Required Skills/Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

2. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.

3. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.

4. In-depth knowledge of payroll software (ideally with ADP), time reporting systems, and federal and state regulations.

5. Excellent numerical and analytical skills for accurate payroll processing.

6. Experience in dealing with tax reports, 401k deductions, insurance, and other payroll-related tasks.

7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

8. Exceptional abilities in multi-tasking, problem-solving, and meeting deadlines.

9. Excellent organizational skills coupled with solid time management abilities.

10. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
