JOB SUMMARY

This position supports the Senior Manager, Business Operation Analysis with financial planning, project management, operational, finance reporting, and analysis, in Asia Pacific Continent Hong Kong office. The Assistant Manager, Business Operations Reporting & Analytics will represent the Continent Finance team to liaise with various disciplines of the Finance organization, including but not limited to Greater China / APEC Finance Operations, Feasibility, Owner Relations, Asset Management, Project Management, Compliance, and Internal Controls. The position is expected to leverage previous experience and understanding to provide recommendations on business decisions. This person is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate information / reporting are provided to internal and external stakeholders, data validation, data consolidations, data maintenance, as well as report administration and tools.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Provide analysis of an individual hotel and continent aggregated forecast and actual performances with respect and not limited to RevPAR, Food & Beverage and ancillary revenues, departmental / gross operating profit, and net owner return, and all those required per finance reporting and business needs.

  • Assists operations analysis and financial reporting team in preparation as well as monitoring and reviewing consolidated operating results, Continent P&L, and forecasts for accuracy. Analyzes forecasts as applicable; identifies potential risks and communicate appropriately.

  • Participate and support in the Continent Finance business as usual process and strategic projects such as month end closing, systems support, forecast and business planning and reporting.

  • Support ad-hoc reporting and analytical requirements of the Finance organization and other Continent disciplines.

  • Participate in Continent-wide and cross-functional initiatives and demonstrate the ability to support a variety of projects with different types of scope.

  • Partner with other Area leaders from same continent, HQ, and other continents to share knowledge, best practices, and leverage tools.

  • Proactively explore internal and external tools, services, resources, and platforms to drive efficiencies in operating procedures, to the extent that benefits not only the Finance but other organizations in the company.

  • Proactively communicate to leadership team if trends and more importantly, potential risks, are identified.

  • Any other projects as appropriate.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong financial acumen with proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to articulate operating and financial results concisely to peers within and outside of the Finance organization.

  • Strong communication skills. Present analytical results in manner appropriate for senior management decision-making (both orally and in writing, in memos and/or presentation format).

  • Excellent PC skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel and Power Point, Power BI and Power Automate, Power Apps, is a must.

  • SQL (minimum 3 years of experience).

  • Ability to organize large volumes of data to create a synthesized, meaningful analysis.

  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a team environment or contribute independently; strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Adaptable to fast paced work environment with new and changing responsibilities.

  • Self-starter with strong tendency toward pro-active process improvement.

  • Speaking and writing in English required

Minimum Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, with concentration in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2-4 years financial management experience; hotel finance and accounting experience preferred.
