Insight Global Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Hanover, Maryland

Job Description

Prepare technical calculation packages.

Geotechnical report writing and technical reviews.

Manage a portfolio of projects meeting client and company requirements for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external clients to understand their needs.

Mentor and manage junior staff and project level geotechnical professionals through project performance.

Develop appropriate scopes and fees for geotechnical field and office tasks.

Coordinate and manage small to large size multi-disciplined projects with guidance and support from senior operations/technical staff.

Safely supervise field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis, and technical activities.

Prepare or review geotechnical designs, reports, and calculations as needed on projects.

Work on teams with recognized experts in deep foundations and marine construction.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering

B.S/M.S. in civil engineering (geotechnical), M.S. preferred

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License. Licensure in the State of Maryland is required or should be obtainable within the first 3 months of employment through reciprocity.

Proficient in most of the following software suits: RocScience, Ensoft, gINT, GeoStudio, DeepEX and CAD.

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills

Physically capable of meeting physical demands of walking/climbing on construction sites, moving, handling testing equipment, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, etc.

Willingness to travel throughout Maryland and its contiguous states.

Strong analytical skills in the following areas: soil and rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, construction support, soil improvement techniques, and stormwater management null
