Summary This job opportunity is for a S position, position description D1007000, within Joint Force Headquarters of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The position serves as a Security Guard capable of independent actions under limited or no supervision. Responsibilities As a Security Guard, GS-0085-05 you may be expected to accomplish the following: Observe and report security violations Maintain integrity of assigned posts and areas Protect private and public property Maintain radio communications as appropriate Remain at assigned post until properly relieved and inventoried Manage visitor access to assigned facilities and locations Requirements Conditions of Employment Areas of Consideration: CAT 3: All New Jersey National Guard members of NJARNG Military Grades: E-4 to E-5 Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications General Experience: Ability to follow directions Instructions, regulations, and procedures Specialized Experience: Must have 12 months performing the following: Maintain order and protect life Protective systems and techniques Performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization Protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, accident, or trespass Education Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience Successful completion of training in an accredited technical school that covered subjects such as physical security procedures, local laws, or investigative techniques.
