Insight Global Electrical Hardware Engineer in Dayton, Ohio

Job Description

A well-known Government supporting company in the Dayton OH area is seeking a Electrical Engineer to sit onsite in Dayton OH joining a highly collaborative team. This Candidate will assist with the development of the Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA) standard that will provide the warfighter and Intelligence Community with an effective means of developing and applying a common set of Open Architecture Standards for ISR/SOF systems. The position will support assisting with kicking off this huge effort internally reviewing of existing electrical/mechanical/system standards for Open Architecture systems to help develop different proposals and designs for various customers using existing and new hardware. This person will be spending a lot of time in their brand-new lab working with various types of equipment, brainstorming different avenues and then assisting with the testing and analysis phase. This person could also support a different effort similar to SOSA where they are trying to standardize how the operating systems such as a linux talks to the different sensors and the findings there. This position gives this candidate the opportunity to pursue state of the art equipment while working in a brand-new facility and has the opportunity to have face to face time with some of the largest key players in the SOSA community across the DoD.

Skills and Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Software engineering, hardware etc

- 3+ years' experience working within Electrical/Hardware environment within the DoD

o Helping build or integrate different hardware devices.

o Exposure in any of the following EW (electronic warfare) or electrical monitoring, RF ( radio frequency) Radar experience, DSP ( digital signal processing) OMS ( open mission systems)

- OpenVPX standard or VPX VITA 46 or 50 experience or something similar such as PCIE, spaceVPX, ( open architecture computer standards for embedded systems in the military environment)

- Ability to obtain a clearance Security Clearance

SIGINT and or GEOINT experience

Air worthiness BG

Lab management experience ( helping to integrate things, help with soldering etc) null
