Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist in Costa Mesa, California. The primary role involves posting and reconciling insurance and patient payments, working closely with internal departments, external business partners, and accounting. This role requires expert knowledge in billing and collection processes, payment processing, research, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

• Posting and reconciliation of all electronic and manual insurance payments and patient payments.

• Efficiently handling interactions with internal departments, external business partners, and Accounting.

• Ensuring timely and accurate posting of all payments and cash activity.

• Maintaining accurate logs and submitting them daily for reconciliation of daily postings.

• Working closely with Accounting to ensure AR reporting is accurate and balances daily.

• Conducting payment posting research to identify posting errors, transferring funds correctly, and documenting on reconciliation log for reporting to Accounting.

• Contacting payors for additional documentation to identify patient accounts.

• Reviewing and working on email requests from staff, management, and other departments for payment posting research within the set timeliness guidelines.

• Actively participating in any training opportunities to enhance knowledge and help improve processes.

• Demonstrating knowledge of and effectively using patient account systems.

• Supervising and performing other duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, including Excel and Word

• Familiarity with medical billing and collection processes

• Experience with payment processing and cash activity

• Ability to review, research, and reconcile billing discrepancies

• Knowledge of medical coverage and benefit functions

• Proven skills in documentation and reporting

• Previous experience in supervising a team

• Ability to work with vendors and external agencies

• Experience in clinical trial operations and facility management

• Knowledge of consumer electronics and website management

• Ability to maintain logs and records

• Experience in implementing process improvements

• Dedication to quality assurance and maintaining high standards

• Experience with training staff on new procedures and protocols

• Ability to manage and reconcile funds.
