The High-Power Electromagnetics Division (HPEM) team is at the forefront of radiated and conducted energy delivery systems from prime power to applications. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to grow, lead, and learn with talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-term and new programs supporting the DoD, DoE, and their contractors. The HPEM Division is looking for an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative EMP Field Technician who has knowledge of carpentry, welding, assembly, assistance in project-based work, etc. to support R&D, rapid manufacturing, and testing activities in Colorado Springs, CO. Travel requirements typically range from at least 20% up to 40+%.

The candidate selected will: * Have strong fabrication, mechanical, and general maintenance skills * Be able to adapt to rapidly changing requirements, environments, and constraints * Be willing to learn * Work under immediate supervision to perform various RF/EM test and measurement tasks for products, systems, components, or in-situ modifications to systems * Assist in field test and lab test preparation, execution, and post-test activities in support of MIL-STD-188-125-1A/2, MIL-STD-3023, and MIL-STD-4023 High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) testing, including shielding effectiveness measurements, pulsed current injection, and continuous-wave immersion * Assist with various lab duties including testbed setup and fabrication, operation of high-voltage equipment, and organization and maintenance of test equipment * Be comfortable and responsible working with heights * Be comfortable and responsible working with high voltage and high current

Core Responsibilities: * Construct, maintain, and test electrical and mechanical systems, components, equipment, etc. * Assist with testing and modification of electronic systems using measurement and diagnostic tools * Document various procedures and designs * Assist with preparing, moving, and conducting project tests * Perform field test technician duties that include extended work hours (10+ hrs/day) on deployments ranging from 1 week to 4+ weeks CONUS or OCONUS * Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements: * US citizen with the ability to obtain and retain a TS security clearance * Available for up to 40% required travel (CONUS and OCONUS) in support of testing or other customer requirements * Have and maintain a valid driver s license * Possess a high school diploma or equivalent * Able to lift up to 50+ pounds * Detail oriented * Able to apply knowledge of basic electrical/high-voltage safety practices * Proficient in basic arithmetic * Self-motivated, willing to develop new skills, and able to take on a wide variety of tasks * Able to effectively multi-task and handle changing work assignments, schedules, and priorities * Able to maintain focus and attention to detail during extended work hours while traveling * Willing to learn to operate a variety of machining equipment, mills, lathes, etc. * Willing to learn welding skills1. Must be able to pass and maintain pass status on OSHA-approved Pulmonary Fitness Test (PFT) in order to wear a respirator for prolonged periods of time

Working Conditions: * Indoor and outdoor work environments * Working with ladders, lifts (fork, scissor, boom, etc.), generally high places * Working with high voltage * May vary in cleanliness, lighting temperature, and ventilation based on testing activity * May require ear, eye and head protection * May require moderate physical effort, involving frequent standing and moving of equipment, including lifting more than 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in EMP-related test, diagnostic, and/or system development * Ability to operate a forklift, extended reach forklift, drive/maneuver/back a 26 box truck and/or pickup truck with trailer * Familiar with MS Office applications * Strong verbal communication skills
