What You’ll Do
Reporting to the plant manager, you will be the expert in planning, leading, and managing the day to day operations of the Maintenance department. You will be part of a dynamic team who drives the five Product Lines at the Carthage site. Other duties will include:
Direct activities in the area of responsibility to attain maximum plant operating efficiency.
Manage operation within an approved budget for controllable costs. Participate in the annual budget process and develop budget within areas of responsibility.
Write or participate in developing CEP’s for annual CAPEX spending.
Maintain good personnel relations by explaining company goals and policies.
Facilitate all personnel actions as required (scheduling, recognition and reward, discipline)
Conduct communication meetings.
Makes daily inspection of proper operation and condition of plant process and equipment. Ensures all units and areas are kept in a clean and orderly fashion. Takes necessary action to correct and complement findings.
Coordinate with maintenance to address needed repair work modifications within areas of responsibility.
Plans and prepares special instructions for areas of responsibility.
Support manufacturing with design and project support that provides infrastructure and process maintenance/repairs/upgrades as needed.
Provide innovative equipment improvements to meet Zero Harm and meet/exceed changing customer demands.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline required.
3-5 years demonstrated management skills in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
5 plus years (combined) in one or more of the following industries: energetic materials, chemical refining, or technical manufacturing.
Ability to troubleshoot issues in all the various processes associated with explosives manufacturing.
Good working knowledge of the Quality Assurance program and manufacturing processes through previous assignments.
Ability to interact and discuss issues with regulatory compliance officials.
Ability to provide direction and coaching to others in an effective leadership manner
Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration among all shift employees
Must satisfy the requirements for a "Possessor of Explosives" as defined by the Bureau of Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
Working knowledge of OSHA PSM requirements required.
Ability to independently identify process problems/opportunities, identifies root cause, and implements solutions.
