Eaton Corporation Apprentice - Tool and Die in Carol Stream, Illinois

Eaton’s IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking an Apprentice - Tool and Die. This position is based at our Carol Stream, Il location. The Tool and Die Apprentice will be a candidate with strong mechanical aptitude and math skills. In addition, you must be able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and work well within a team environment.

The hourly rate for this position is $18 - $20 per hour.

What you’ll do:

• Learn to design and build tools, within specified time frames, to company standards

• Must be able to interpret blueprints in order to verify conformance of parts to prints using measuring instruments

• Need the ability to pass pre-apprentice quiz for entrance to TMA

• Complete education/training with TMA and in-house apprenticeship program - *see HR for TMA class requirements

• Mechanical aptitude must be strong to assess the viability of complex part interrelations in a complete tool assembly model.

• Perform setup and operation of grinders, drills, mills, lathes and various hand tools.

• Other duties required to meet company needs as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Ability to pass pre-apprentice quiz

Skills:

• The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.

• Noise level in plant is moderate.

• Hear protection required posted areas.

• Comply with all company policies and procedures in including safety and attendance requirements.

• Good problem-solving skills/Strong verbal communication skills/Strong teamwork skills

• Good attention to detail

• Able to follow-through on assigned tasks
