Carmeuse Americas Licensed Blaster in BATTLETOWN, Kentucky

Description:

Design, layout, prepare, and detonate planned explosive related blasts with correct products, measured quantities, safe application, and effective use of explosives to dislodge limestone from the mine in alignment with company policy/guidelines. The licensed blaster will inspect the blasting area and magazines, check equipment, and help maintain the area to ensure that all laws and safety regulations are followed.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Participate in the implementation of safety programs to ensure the safety of employees

  • Perform Pre-Shift inspection

  • Lay out pattern to and determine depth and diameter of blast holes and quantity of explosives needed

  • Load explosives in blast holes

  • Connect wire, detonating cords, fuses into series and connect series to detonate charges

  • Handle, store, track, and transport explosives in accordance with company policy and regulations

  • Maintain accurate data/records/documentation

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and all related legal/statutory regulations, policies and procedures, codes, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations

  • Other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Licensed Blaster in the state of Kentucky
